We wish we had a short satisfying answer for this one. Truth is it depends. Just like the cost of a home varies depending on how big, or customized it is, so does a website. The most basic type of business website typically starts around $2500 and goes up from there depending on your unique needs. How long does it take to finish a website?
This also depends, but about 4-5 weeks and up for a basic website.
What other costs are involved in owning a website?
The 2 main things you absolutely need to start is a domain and a hosting account. Once a website is up and running, maintaining and improving the site is necessary. The rest depends on your business needs.

WordPress is the leading content management system out there. Basically this allows you to easily add pages, create posts, and manage your website with an easy to use interface. Close to 30% of all website run on WordPress, which is HUGE. WordPress has been around since 2003 and has not stopped growing ever since. Oh yea, and it’s free.
